Important Change Notice

Effective March 18, 2008, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will no longer serve Out-of-State Civil Process. The exception to this will be the service of Injunctions for Protection, or other Emergency Orders against Domestic Violence, that are signed by a judge. If you have an Injunction for Protection or Emergency Order against Domestic Violence to be served, please contact the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division at 941-637-2272 or 941-637-2273; for further information.

For the service of all other Out-of-State Civil Process, we are providing a link to a list of approved Certified Civil Process Servers for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit. Effective January 1, 2008, the Honorable Chief Judge G. Keith Cary implemented a new procedure, as authorized by the Florida Certified Process Server Act, Florida State Statute 48.25-48.31. This list is available at http://www.ca.cjis20.org/web/programs/ccps.asp.
