Housing unit assignments are based on the inmate’s classification. Classification is based on a scoring system that considers the inmate’s legal status, level of maturity, management requirements and in custody behavioral history.
-
The inmate’s initial classification is usually determined within the first 72 hours. Reclassification occurs:
- whenever there is a change in the inmates legal situation;
- the inmate completes a term of disciplinary segregation;
- the inmate is placed in an administrative segregation; or
- the facility receives substantiated information that could reasonably be expected to impact the inmate’s behavior.
-
The inmate is permitted one appeal of your classification status for each change of status. Appeals are requested through standard inmate request procedures to the Administrative Commander.
