You may communicate with an inmate at any time via the U. S. Mail. All incoming mail is opened, censored and searched for contraband.
Legal Mail shall be opened in the presence of the inmate to confirm that it is legal mail.

Items that are considered contraband and not allowed in the jail include:
The inmate is only permitted 5 photos in his/ her possession during the length of incarceration. Additional photos received will be disposed of per policy. If a senders name is not listed on the correspondence the photos will be considered contraband and destroyed per Jail policies. The inmate is not permitted to exchange or request additional photos.
Photos larger than 4"x6"
Polaroid photographs
Any pornographic or racially motivated item/material
Escape plans
Illegal correspondence
Newspaper articles, magazines
Internet and computer pictures, printed jokes
Stamped envelopes, stamps, stickers on letters
Blank paper, paper clips
Any items that are considered contraband will be disposed of and a Mail Contraband Form initiated, original to inmate's housing file with copy to the inmate.
