Crime Analysis

The Crime Analysts are responsible for collecting and analyzing crime reports, parole and probation information, arrest data, modus operandi information, field interview cards, citation information, and other crime-related data. They search for and identify commonalities and patterns in current crime problems so resources to combat these problems may be appropriately allocated. The analysts are responsible for the processing and dissemination of all crime tips received by the Sheriff’s Office. They maintain the Intelligence website, which provides members with intelligence information that impacts or has the potential to impact Charlotte County. They generate and distribute weekly statistical reports through the use of crime maps, flowcharts, and presentations to aid in the identification and solution of crimes. They also serve as liaison between the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement agencies throughout the nation disseminating information and intelligence.
