Personnel assigned to Fleet Maintenance are responsible for the fleet of vehicles operated by members of the Sheriff's Office. They track the maintenance work done on each vehicle and insure that each vehicle has the required equipment properly installed. After Hurricane Charley, the building that housed Fleet Maintenance was severely damaged and they had to operate out of the Supply and Receiving area at the Sheriff's Office. However, in mid-2007, they were able to move into their new facilities adjacent to the new Public Safety Building on Airport Road.
