Lt. Jessica Long began her career with the Charlotte County Sheriffs Office as a Reserve Deputy in 1992. While serving in that capacity, she decided to commit herself to making some facet of law enforcement her full time career. In 1993, she applied for a position as a Corrections Officer and was accepted.
Through the years, she has participated in the promotional process and worked her way up through the ranks to her current position of Lieutenant. She attended the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer Development Course which provided excellent insight into supervisory issues and overall management of personnel.
Lt. Long has an Associates Degree and is working toward completing her Bachelors Degree.
