Captain Daniel Kacynski began his career at the Stateville Correctional Center,
a maximum security male facility, in Joliet, Illinois, in 1989. In 1993 he spent a short time working at the Illinois Youth Center in Joliet before transferring to the Dwight
Correctional Center for Women which houses all security classifications of female prisoners.
Captain Kacynski relocated to Florida in 1995 and worked at the DeSoto Correctional Institution, earning his Florida certification while at this facility. In November
1995 he was hired at the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Deputy. He served as the Inmate Programs Officer before moving up the ranks to lieutenant. In January
2005 Lt. Kacynski assumed the position of Support Services Commander of the Charlotte County Jail. In April 2008 he was promoted to Captain as an Assistant Bureau Commander
Captain Kacynski has attended various career enhancement courses to strengthen his knowledge of Corrections and Law Enforcement, including having recently graduated from
the Senior Leadership Program in Tallahassee.
