Martha Martin became a member of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office in August 1989.
While working for the Sheriff’s Office she worked on her formal education, concentrating on the function of Public Administration and Criminal Law. Martha earned an Associate in Arts
degree in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor in Criminology degree from Saint Leo University. She continued her education with Florida Gulf Coast University and attained a Masters degree
in Public Administration.
Martha is an active member of the Association of Records Managers & Administrators (ARMA), The Florida Records Management Association (FRMA) and the First Amendment Foundation. In
2001, Governor Jeb Bush appointed Martha to serve on the State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB). In December 2004 the Governor re-appointed her to serve on the Board for a second term.
Martha has been active in social activities as well as local, state and national politics. She presently serves as Vice President on the Peace River Republican Women’s Forum and she
has served as the pianist for Community Life Center Full Gospel Church in Port Charlotte since 1986. Her interests include interior decorating, education and travel.
