Narcotics RaidNarcotics offenses, by their nature, often require members to learn of and develop evidence of crimes by infiltrating an operation or associating with persons suspected of criminal activity. Therefore, covert operations for the control of narcotics, vice and/or organized crime violations are necessary.

All information concerning possible violations of narcotics, vice and organized crime laws, no matter how insignificant, will be examined and brought to a logical conclusion. Grow HouseInvestigations into these offenses can involve a tremendous expenditure of time, money and effort. By evaluating the accuracy and credibility of initial information, determining the scope and relative importance of the problem and establishing a solid data base, the criteria will determine what information or which offenses are investigated.

The Narcotics Section is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and controlling drug enforcement within the boundaries of Charlotte County. Seized CorvetteAs a result, the Narcotics Section often seizes property used in the commission of a felony narcotics transactions, such as cash, firearms and vehicles.

In addition to working narcotics cases in Charlotte County, the Sheriff's Office Narcotic Section has one experienced Narcotics detective assigned to work with the Ft. Myers DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Task Force. This is a multi-agency task force which investigates the importation of narcotics into Southwest Florida on a larger scale.
