Parking Enforcement

The Charlotte County Parking Enforcement Unit is made up entirely of volunteers. They have special training in parking violations and are authorized to write tickets for parking violations. Their area of patrol is county wide and includes all parking lots, private and public. Violations of Fire zones, Handicap violations, overtime or failure to comply with paid parking at beach complexes are strictly enforced. CCSO Parking Enforcement have specially marked patrol vehicles with yellow light bars to differentiate their vehicles from that of a regular Certified Deputy. The uniform of Parking Enforcement consists of light green shirts with dark green pants and they are not armed. The main duty of CCSO Parking Enforcement is mainly parking enforcement but on special occasions will assist in traffic direction.
