Lt. Timothy Tackett was a mechanic before he began his career in Corrections with the Charlotte Correctional Institution from 1989 to 1990. In March of 1990, he was hired with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer. He has worked nearly every position in the jail, finally working his way up through the ranks to his present position as the Watch Commander/Lieutenant.

Lt. Tackett has taken many supervisory and management courses during his career at the Sheriff’s Office. He is dual certified in both Corrections and Law Enforcement.
