Major Thomas Rodgers

Major Thomas RodgersMajor Thomas Rodgers served in the U.S. Army from 1987 to 1991 as an Avionic Mechanic reaching the rank of sergeant stationed both stateside and overseas in South Korea. After the military, he began his career in Corrections with Desoto Correctional Institution from 1992 to 1993. In March of 1993, he was hired with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer where he has worked his way up through the ranks to his current position as Commander of the Charlotte County Jail.

Major Rodgers has achieved several educational milestones. He is dual certified in Corrections and Law Enforcement and he is a graduate of Southern Police Institute, Command Officer Development Course. Major Rodgers has an Associates of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Edison Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Gulf Coast University in Criminology.
