Man arrested for sex with baby.

Oct 21, 2009 -

Charlotte County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit detectives Tuesday arrested a Punta Gorda man for having sex on a baby girl. MCU detectives arrested Glenn M. Nelson, 59, 28200 Bermont Rd., and charged him with Capital Sexual Battery on an 18 Month Old Baby Girl, and Lewd and Lascivious Molestation on a Child Under 12 Years Old.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the mother's home in Port Charlotte, and found child pornography images on her computer. The CCSO Computer Crimes Forensic Investigator also found files and chat sessions between the mother and Nelson discussing having sex via webcam with her baby.

MCU detectives then obtained two more search warrants, one for Nelson's apartment, and the other for the Villa Del Sol office where Nelson is the property manager. Detectives said their investigation revealed Nelson and his girlfriend engaged in sexual acts with her child since the girl was born. Photos were taken on numerous occasions and also sent to Nelson's home computer and his workplace which were recovered for evidence.

Nelson remains at the Charlotte County Jail on no bond. The baby was originally turned over to the Department of Children and Families, and is now in the custody of a relative. MCU detectives say more charges are expected in this ongoing case. Specific details about the mother are not being released at this time.
