The Crime Prevention Unit is designed to concentrate on issues that impact the level of safety experienced by our community. Our unit offers a variety of educational presentations to community groups upon request. Please contact our unit if any of the below listed programs can enhance your safety.
- Red Dot- provides medical alert information to EMS responders via an informational pouch attached to refrigerator, and transmitted by CCSO dispatch.
- Combat Auto Theft (CAT) - provides a sticker for automobile identifying that owner does not operate the vehicle between the hours of 1am and 5am. If vehicle is located between those hours a traffic stop will be conducted to identify driver of vehicle to verify the automobile is not stolen
- Operation Lock-out- this program provides participants with an assigned key ring that can be mailed back to CCSO by finder if lost
- Scams and Frauds- provides the latest information on these types of crimes occurring in our community and nationwide
- Identity Theft- provides attendees information on how to safeguard their personal information to prevent identity theft
- Operation ID- free service offered by CCSO where an engraver is loaned to mark personal property with owner's drivers license number
- Personal Safety- covers basic safety prevention tips for you individual safety concerns
- Free Home of Business Security Survey- let our trained Crime Prevention Practitioners survey your property and make recommendations to increase the level of protection in place for your home or business
- Child Protection- basic course covering skills in observation, thinking (decision-making), and reporting
- Keeping Your Kids Drug Free for parents & guardians
- Programs for children pre-K to 8th grade: Drug Prevention, Tobacco & Alcohol
- Prevention, Gun Safety, Bicycle Safety, Stranger Danger
