Work involves assisting in civil disorders, collecting evidence, conducting interviews, crime scene protection, domestic complaints, emergency medical procedures. Work may also include law enforcement-community relations, prowler and distubrance calls, search and seizures, preparation fo traffic citations (but not signing).

To apply for a full time Law Enforcement, Corrections, Reserve or civilian position, please download the
preliminary application (PDF). You will need
the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view
the files. This preliminary application can either be printed and fill out by hand, or it can be filled out on your
computer using Acrobat Reader. If you fill out the form using Acrobat Reader, you will need to print your completed
preliminary application before you close the program. It will not let you save the completed form. After the Sheriff’s
Office has received your application, you may be scheduled to appear for an oral board. Candidates who successfully
complete the oral board will be asked to complete the full application form.
To apply for a volunteer position such as Parking Enforcement, COPS, Explorers etc, please download and complete our
volunteer application, using the same instructions as above. These positions
do not require an oral board.
